Padel Ibiza, always fun

Some say that padel is the most popular sport in Ibiza. How about this nationally? Is there a sport in Spain more popular than football ?! No, padel is not yet that popular. With the emphasis on still, but extremely popular, padel Ibiza is. It's Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, who brings the game to Spain in 1974 after a vacation in Mexico. He was staying there with a friend who had a walled mini-tennis court built in his backyard. This because his garden was too small for a real tennis court. The prince appreciated the game that was played there and upon his return to Spain he had two courts laid out in the gardens of (his) Marbella Club Hotel. Of course, he wouldn't be a prince if he didn't adjust the rules a bit and that's how padel was born in Spain.

Padel Ibiza

Padel is a cross between squash and tennis. The game is mainly more accessible than tennis because less technique is required. Maybe that's why padel is so popular in Spain and Ibiza. Even after an evening of enjoyment, padel can be played the next day. Padel Ibiza is played on a smaller field with glass walls. Just like in tennis, there is a net in the middle. The ball must first bounce in the field and can then also be played back through the wall. Unlike tennis, you always play padel double, so two against two.

Padel Ibiza, the most beautiful clubs

Padel Ibiza you can play at different clubs, although there is one place on the island that has it all. Tropical palm trees, a cozy bar and even a kids club. That is Club de Campo, with both outdoor and indoor courts for playing padel. This sports club is located in San Jordi, centrally located to Ibiza town.
